Westcoast Publishers is an Artist-Run, not-for-profit publishing company based in Vancouver , BC that promotes Local Canadian Artists in their own communities.
We strive to provide alternative methods for Artists to benefit from their work - by rewarding them with 100% of our income through the sale of books. While corporate publishing relies on Authors and Artists to make money, we believe, on the contrary, that Artists need publishers to help promote themselves and earn money. To us, this means creating markets instead of following them; it means changing the role of Publisher to that
of a Marketer, Designer and Investor in a books future and potential.
As Designers and Publishers, we feel we are socially responsible and financially accountable for the money we earn, for the harm we cause the planet, and for the culture we supply to our local communities. Environmentally we choose to print only from FSC certified printers that have waste control and print on recycled paper with content from sustainably managed forrests.
